Venue Spotlight: The Great Room at Historic Savage Mill
Not only is it fun to work with one of my favorite wedding planners, it’s always a pleasure shooting a wedding in an amazing venue. I’ve been fortunate to work in some really fantastic event locations throughout Maryland, and The Great Room at Savage Mill is high up on my list of must-see spots.
Located right on the Little Patuxent River in Savage Maryland, the Historic Savage Mill was built in the 1820’s and is full of stunning details. This former textile mill is on the National Historic Record, and the Great Room serves as a beautiful home for your most special occasions.

- Tented deck for ceremonies & cocktail hours.
- Easy to find right off of route 32 and route 1.
- Many beautiful photo sites inside and out.
- Free rehearsal times.
The Great Room at Historic Savage Mill is just as dedicated to suiting your own unique wedding needs as we are. Flexibility is king at this location, which is why it’s a local favorite. You’re permitted to use your own wedding vendors or you can avail yourself of their highly experienced Putting On the Ritz event planner/catering who have been running the Great Room for the past 20 years. You can also rent their sister property, the Manor House, for your rehearsal at half price when you book a date.
